The role of public institutions to ensure the human right to happiness

happyHappiness. For some, it is the name of the emotions or the presence in the life of a particular person, for others – something unknown, and for the third – meaning of life. Perhaps so many men so many ideas and definitions. Of course, there is a psychological, physiological, philosophical, religious definition.

For centuries, humanity has been seeking for the only true definition of “happiness” and under what circumstances a person feels happy. Aristotle said that only a philosopher or a statesman can be happy, although he did not detract the role of physiological and logical satisfaction of needs. By the way, this ancient thinker identified ethics as an independent scientific discipline, the main objective of which, in his opinion, was to teach a man to be happy.

Plato insisted that caring about the happiness of others, we find our own. According to Christian teaching happiness is in direct contact with God. My countryman, Hrihoriy Skovoroda believed that every person who creates the material and spiritual values has a right to happiness. I want to tell this parable. God modeled man from clay but a small piece of clay was left. In the confusion, God asked the man, what else he wanted Him to model, what he lacked? He received a request to model him happiness. But God did not answer and gave the man that small piece of clay.

Indeed, the man himself creates the present and the future, everyone has the right to happiness, and everyone decides if he needs to be happy, someone keeps happiness, and someone does not. And can every person be happy? Different people, different views, different levels of claims. What are the differences? They are at the national, cultural, religious, political, educational, economic and social levels. People differ in beliefs and interests, temperament and character, experience, and skills.

For example, in Brazil, they are going to fix on the legislative level that every person has the right to the pursuit of happiness. And can public institutions act as a guarantor of human rights to obtain happiness? I’ll try to call the existing public institutions and briefly characterize their functions. Scientists note that there are at least five key public institutions: the political, economic, family, educational and religious.

The system of each institution includes many groups that define the institutional behavior. So, educational institution is implemented through pre-school, secondary and vocational school, higher and other educational institutions. Functions of a political institution are in the distribution of political power, supporting laws, standards and regulations.

Economic functions are manufacturing, integrative, innovative and adaptive; religious – a deepening of faith, communication, psychotherapy; family – reproductive, communicative, social; educational – professional and economic, the spread of universal values, upbringing. Undoubtedly, there is a public institution under certain conditions and specific needs in the community. Practice shows that among these institutions, there is a certain relationship. Changes in one institute lead to changes in the other.

Thus, public institutions are closely related to the human being. What is the essence of a happy life in society? For some, it is mostly material goods, for others – a set of spiritual values, and for some it is ability to simply exist. I think that depending on the satisfaction of needs (be it ethnic, physiological, psychological, economic, employment or social), each person determines the leading area of activity that brings him to state of the full enjoyment of life, feeling highly satisfaction and unbridled joy that gives him a feeling of happiness.

For me, happiness is my health and health of my family, ability to feel my mother’s love and mutual understanding between the people close to me, to love and to feel loved, to know that I have a comfortable family home and peaceful sky above. I hope to feel happy in my own family and professional activities. Who or what can help me to be happy? Apparently, this is the feeling that a person must, first of all, find in himself. Find the values of his existence, which will help him to be happy. Public institutions only help to realize those dreams that will lead to the expected, predicted results.

It is important that personal values should coincide, interact with universal values of the society in which you live. Which public institutions can help me to realize the right to be happy? And how can they do it? Political – to ensure the implementation of the constitutionally guarantee the fulfillment of human and civil rights in Ukraine (political, economic, social, spiritual, etc.).

Economic – to get right to work and choice of profession, the right to a worthy wage. Educational – to provide an opportunity to get the desired professional education. Family – to create your own family with healthy children, respectful and loving relationship between the members of my family.

What is a formula of happiness? I am sure the true happiness of man is in the harmonization of all aspects of his life, in a rational and the most elaborate consistency between the intrapersonal world around. It is very difficult to find an effective balance in it. But apparently, this is the basic law in achieving happiness.

If it were easy to do without considerable effort, cost of a considerable amount of time, we would lose the ability to appreciate and feel the happiness. Of course, there are situations in human life, when he feels deeply unhappy.

That is the law of life. It is this law that gives you the opportunity to feel better and sharper unbridled joy of the arrival of happiness. Understanding of the causes of unhappiness approaches to achieve this goal. It should be properly balanced to determine what can bring happiness. With the achievement of the assigned tasks, there may come the expected state, and it, in turn, can last for a long time, can be instantaneous or changeable.

It depends primarily on the person and on the outside world too. Very often, people are so interested in the very process of achieving happiness, so when happiness comes they realize that the way to the goal was much happier than the result. I’m sure I will be able to be happy when I can fulfill my potential in various spheres of life, achieve my dreams and goals, and deliberate understanding of universal and my personal life will help me in this and of course public institutions will help as well.
